Under the moonlight
Several types of sumi ink are used to create a black background with various line qualities and shades, and then silver leaves are used to express the main lines.
The composition is the opposite of the world of kana, in which characters are written in black ink on gold/ silver encrusted 料紙ryo-o-shi, and the reverse side of the world. The silver changes color depending on the light. The color of sumi ink is not simply black but has a
three-dimensional depth.
This combination of silver and sumi ink makes the profound beauty that cannot be achieved with other materials. Welcome to the unique and ethereal world of Sachiyo Kaneko.
